Apart from the slew of additional features already on offer, MIUI 12 is also slated to get a nifty functionality that allows per-app volume control called Sound Assistant. Meanwhile, Chinese variants of the Mi 9 Transparent Edition, Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition, and the Mi 10 Lite Youth Edition have now started receiving the MIUI 12 stable ROM OTA with global rollouts expected soon.

MIUI 12 is slated to bring in a ton of enhancements and new features to eligible Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices. We already know that MIUI 12 will offer a new design, Super Wallpapers, new camera features, floating windows, and more. Now, we are also getting to know that MIUI 12 will allow for per-app sound volume adjustments similar to the volume control in Windows.

This feature is called Sound Assistant and is currently available only in the MIUI 12 Chinese Beta ROM with a possibility of availability for the Global ROM some time later. The Sound Assistant can be enabled in Settings and accessed by pressing the volume buttons while playing media. The interface allows the user to control sound output per-app instead of having to be content with adjusting just the "Media" volume as a whole.

In related news, several additional Xiaomi phones have started receiving MIUI 12 updates. These include the Mi 9 Explorer Edition also known as the Transparent Edition. Unlike what happened with the Mi 8, which had a separate ROM for its Transparent Edition, the Mi 9 Transparent Edition gets the same MIUI 12 bits as the regular Mi 9. That being said, the Mi 9 Transparent Edition is a China-exclusive device, so only the Chinese MIUI 12 stable ROM is available.

Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite also known as the Mi 10 Youth Edition is the other device to receive the MIUI 12 update. Currently, the Chinese variant of the Mi 10 Lite is reported to be getting this update with a global rollout expected some time soon.

Finally, we have the Redmi K30 5G Racing/Speed Edition that joins the Redmi K30 Pro and the Redmi K30 5G in receiving the MIUI 12 update via OTA. The Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition was the first phone to feature the Snapdragon 768G, and Chinese variants of this device have reportedly started receiving the MIUI 12 stable ROM. This usually means MIUI 12 will soon head to global variants of the Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition as well.
