Xiaomi Haylou LS01: A sub ~US$20 smartwatch with IP68 certification, 9 sports modes, 24 hours heart rate monitoring and up to 14 days battery life

Xiaomi has dropped the Haylou LS01 to CNY 119 (~US$16.81) on its Youpin eCommerce platform. The smartwatch, for which Xiaomi sought crowdfunding last year, weighs 34 g and measures 40.9 x 35.7 x 11.6 mm without the strap. The wrist strap length of the smartwatch is 26.3 mm, making the Haylou LS01 compatible with third-party straps.

The smartwatch has a 1.3-inch colour TFT display that operates natively at 240 x 240 pixels. It is also IP68 certified against dust and water, so you should no issues using the Haylou LS01 when exercising. Xiaomi has included a dynamic optical heart rate monitor too, along with an accelerometer and support for Bluetooth 4.2. A 210 mAh battery underpins the device, from which Xiaomi claims the smartwatch can tease up to 14 days battery life.

The Haylou LS01 supports 9 sports modes, including cycling, running and walking. The smartwatch is available in two colours and is compatible with Android 4.4 and iOS 8.0 or newer. If you cannot purchase the Haylou LS01 from Xiaomi's Youpin eCommerce platform, then third-party retailers like AliExpress and Gearbest sell the smartwatch for around $25.
