Xiaomi Ninebot Number 9 Gokart Pro: Enjoy your favorite racing tracks while drifting at up to 23 mph for 8,998 yuan (US$1,270)
Xiaomi has rapidly continued to broaden its lineup, and now there’s a new go-kart joining the product family, following such interesting items like the Xiaomi Ninebot Gokart Kit that allowed users to modify a Xiaomi Mi scooter into a go-kart. The Ninebot Number 9 Gokart Pro is a fully formed vehicle though, which can be pushed up to speeds of 23 mph (37 km/h) thanks to its two powerful motors (2400 W).
Apart from looking appropriately dashing, the Xiaomi Ninebot Gokart Pro allows for four different driving modes, depending on the skill of the driver. Novice mode operates at a gentle 5 mph (8 km/h) while normal mode ups the ante to just over 11 mph (18 km/h). Those more daring can select sports mode for more than 17 mph (28 km/h) and future professionals can drift along in track mode at 23 mph (37 km/h).
Thanks to the presence of 4x 8 W speakers on the Xiaomi Ninebot Gokart Pro, drivers can listen to their favorite tracks while racing on their favorite tracks. The go-kart is capable of taking a load of 220 lbs (100 kg) and the 432 Wh battery can apparently last for 62 laps of a quarter-mile course (400 m). The design of the Ninebot Gokart Pro shows clean lines and a futuristic look topped off by green LED lighting.
Xiaomi is currently offering the Ninebot Gokart Pro for 8,998-yuan (US$1,270) on its Youpin site. Ninebot is a separate Chinese company that is partially funded by Xiaomi, and it acquired the well-known personal transporter designer Segway Inc. in 2015.
