Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 price for Europe leaked: €39.99 (US$45) for the activity tracker without NFC

A noted leaker has offered up a European price tag for the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5: €39.99 (US$45/£36/₹3,400). The tipster Sudhanshu claims to have possession of a spec sheet for the activity tracker but unfortunately has limited the revelations to just the apparent price tag. Xiaomi has already announced that the global variant of its Mi Band 5 will start appearing in international markets in July.

The same source also reconfirmed that the Mi Smart Band 5 (global) will not come with NFC functionality, although there is a possibility that feature could come later down the line, especially if the rumor about a Pro variant of the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 activity tracker comes true. Although it has not yet been officially confirmed whether the global variant will have an SpO2 sensor, it’s widely believed the wearable will come with that feature.

The European price tag of €39.99 for a non-NFC Mi Smart Band 5 model does seem steep compared to the domestic pricing, but it also falls in line with previous Mi Band prices in Europe. For instance, the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 can currently be bought for £34.99 or €34.99, although it has recently been on sale in some European Mi stores for €29.99. It’s likely the predecessor’s price will be cut once the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 becomes officially available.
