Update June 27: Digital Chat Station has confirmed that their mentioned specs were in regard to the upcoming iQOO Z1x smartphone.
Original story:
Details about a potential Redmi Note 9 5G smartphone have started leaking out online. It’s believed the device will be targeted at Xiaomi’s domestic market of China, while international markets will have to make do with the 4G model of the Redmi Note 9 for the time being. Alleged specifications include a Snapdragon 765G, a display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a 48 MP main camera sensor.
However, the above specifications for the supposed Redmi Note 9 5G are identical to those of the already released Redmi K30i 5G, which features the same processor and display rate. But there is at least one rumored crucial difference so far: Where the Redmi K30i 5G has a 4,500-mAh battery and can be charged at a rate of 30 W, the Redmi Note 9 5G ups the ante with a 5,000-mAh battery and 33 W fast charging.
Price-wise, it can be expected that a Redmi Note 9 5G device would be priced at a similar level to the Redmi K30i 5G, which costs 1,899 yuan (US$268), depending on the final specifications for the former smartphone. It has been speculated that the Chinese 5G variant of the just-released Redmi Note 9 could be released as early as next month.
