We already have the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max but the vanilla Redmi Note 9 has been missing in action in the meantime. However, unearthed images and specs of a smartphone with the model number M2003J15SC coming from Xiaomi have led to speculation that this device could be the upcoming Redmi Note 9.
The smartphone in the images features a quad-core camera system (48 MP primary sensor) placed inside a square housing that is located in the top center portion of the rear. On the front there is a punch-hole camera (13 MP) in the top left-hand corner for selfies. The TENAA data mentions a 6.53-inch display (2340x1080) for the phone, while the device itself measures 162.3 x 77.2 x 8.9 mm. The supposed Redmi Note 9 weighs 198 g and comes with a 4,920 mAh battery.
It is rumored that the Redmi Note 9 could come with a MediaTek Helio G80 processor, and it should feature 3 GB, 4 GB, and 6 GB RAM memory options along with 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB storage configurations. The Redmi Note 9 is expected to operate on Android 10/MIUI 11. It has a fingerprint sensor under the rear main camera, and the device also features a deep-red power button. The images of the potential Redmi Note 9 seem to be dividing opinions, with some liking the look while others finding it definitely not to their taste.
