Xiaomi XiaoAI Portable Speaker: Built-in AI and 2 W of power in a compact square form for 49 yuan (US$7) or US$19.99 from Banggood

Xiaomi’s popular portable mini Bluetooth speaker has been revamped for 2020. The previously round shape has been discarded for a cube form, with the new XiaoAI Portable Speaker being colored entirely in white. The 2 W Bluetooth speaker is just 52 x 52.7 х 27 mm in size, which makes it very handy to carry around. Xiaomi currently has the new speaker priced at 49 yuan (US$57) on its Youpin crowdfunding site.

The Xiaomi XiaoAI Portable Speaker also features the company’s voice assistant, XiaoAI, built into the unit. There is a 480-mAh battery inside the speaker, and it should last for around six hours of running time before needing a recharge (via USB Type-C port). The speaker can be placed up to 33 ft/10 m away from the smartphone or other device it is paired with and still operate.

The smart speaker, which can easily fit into a back pocket or small bag, has two hardware buttons for the microphone and the power. It’s possible to order the little Xiaomi XiaoAI Portable Speaker from Banggood for US$19.99 plus shipping fees, although the compact Bluetooth speaker does not come with a charging cable.
