The Mi TV Stick has leaked again, and it turns out that Xiaomi will be releasing two versions of it. According to @Sudhanshu1414 and Gizmochina, Xiaomi will release FHD and 4K versions of the dongle, which it will price at US$49 and US$133, respectively. Xiaomi will distinguish further the two models by equipping the 4K version with 2 GB of RAM and the FHD edition with 1 GB of RAM.
The Mi TV Stick is essentially a more compact version of the Mi Box S, which Xiaomi sells in multiple markets. The Mi Box S retails for US$59.99, although Walmart currently sells the device for US$49.99. The unit can output in 4K for that price, so US$133 seems steep for the 4K version of the Mi TV Stick. The latter is available to order from Gearbest now for US$133.14. AliExpress and Gearbest have listings for the FHD model too, but these are considerably more expensive than US$49.99. This model can be reserved on Powerplanetonline.com for €39.95 (~US$44.65) including taxes, though.
As we have previously reported, the Mi TV Stick will come with a remote control that will support Google Assistant. The remote control will feature dedicated buttons for launching Amazon Prime Video and Netflix, too. These services will run on Android TV 9.0, which also includes access to the Google Play Store.
It is unclear when Xiaomi will announce the Mi TV Stick or whether it will discontinue the Mi Box S. The company is expected to bring the device to Europe and the US among other regions. One retailer estimates that it will start shipping the Mi TV Stick by the end of July.
