LG has launched its newest soundbar, simply known as the GX. The OEM clearly intends it for use with the 65-inch GX Gallery TV, as it matches this flat-screen device in terms of finish and width. Therefore, it can be either mounted or positioned for complete confluence with this 2020 Red Dot Design Award-winning OLED model.
Then again, considering its eARC-enabled HDMI and Bluetooth connectivity, the GX soundbar is also compatible with many other TVs with which a consumer may want to pair it.
These specs confer Dolby True HD, DTS Master Audio and wireless streaming abilities on the device, which also supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X formats and 3.1-channel audio.
The new soundbar is also capable of 4K pass-through, and, thus, Dolby Vision. LG also notes that it is Hi-Res Audio certified for lossless 24bit/96kHz playback "with greater vibrancy and nuance".
It also comes with a wireless subwoofer to help ensure bass reproduction, and, as with other 2020 audio products, is compatible with the SPK8 Wireless Rear Speaker Kit for potentially increased immersion and realism.
LG will release the GX soundbar to the US market in the week starting on July 20, 2020 to its usual ring of retailers and distributors. It has a recommended price of US$1299 for its initial round of availability.
