Aria has launched its SONG X true-wireless earbuds on Indiegogo. These accessories, like the Huawei Freebuds 3 or LG TONE Frees, have a round charging case. However, its lid mechanism is quite different: an external ring (or "Star Ring") swivels upward or downward on a hinge to reveal the buds, rather than the typical "floss-box" interface.
Besides this, SONG X's maker claims that they have reliable connectivity, which includes the ability of one earbud to function independently, thanks to their "3rd-gen" Bluetooth 5.0 chipset. They are also apparently equipped with 6 millimeter (mm) dynamic driver and a metallic vibration membrane that "deliver true lossless sounds".
These components are housed in buds with a "Powder Metallurgy" finish and an X-shaped white LED on their outer faces. Aria asserts that this gives them a "natural", yet "premium" appeal. The SONG X TWS earbuds come in Coral Orange, Midnight Green, Twilight Black or Pearl White colorways. They also have an IPX5 ingress-protection rating, whereas some established counterparts such as the Bose SoundSport Frees and Apple AirPods have IPX4.
The SONG Xs can charge via USB type C or the Qi wireless standard. They are slated to last 5 hours on their own batteries, or up to 20 more thanks to their innovative case. They start at US$59 on their crowdfunding platform. However, Aria has listed accessories such as protective ring-shaped bumpers and a matching wireless charger as separate purchases.
To date, the SONG X earbuds have attracted over $200000 in backing, despite their original $644 flexible goal, and are available for another 20 days.
