Xiaomi may be about to launch a new mouse that is capable of responding to voice commands. This is apparent thanks to new Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) documentation. It approves the Mi Smart Mouse as a device with up-to-date wireless connectivity and a 4000 DPI.

Xiaomi is well-known as a mobile device OEM, but is also a prolific smart-device maker. Now, it seems the company has decided that one of its new mice also needs this property. According to a new certification obtained from the Bluetooth SIG, this upcoming peripheral will be capable of responding to the user's voice.

This documentation also shows that the Mi Smart Mouse will also have "Translation" features, surely something at least one user out there has always wanted in their pointing accessory. More specifically, the product - which may be sold under the model number XASB01ME - will be equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 and have a DPI of 4000.

The Xiaomi Mi Smart Mouse may also feature a unidirectional clickwheel. Its new official approval does not overtly categorize it as a wireless mouse, although Xiaomi does have experience of making such devices should this be the case. As to its price, that is the stuff of speculation at present, although a current example of a well-spec'd Xiaomi mouse sells at US$64.99 at present.
