Alongside the recently confirmed to be exclusive for the Chinese market MIX Fold 3, the Redmi K60 Ultra has just been unveiled by Xiaomi. No less than 220,000 units were sold in just 5 minutes, setting a new record for handsets in the CN¥4,000 price range (US$550) this year on JD.com. The most affordable K60 Ultra setup retails for just CN¥2,599 (US$360) and is far from low-end, sporting 12 GB memory and 256 GB internal storage. However, what makes this handset interesting is the fact that it will be the first to get the MIUI 15 update, according to Xiaomi.
During the launch event of the two handsets mentioned above, Xiaomi has also shown a set of MIUI 15 screenshots, which are the first official ones to come out. Sadly, these images don't show much, although MIUI 14's successor is expected to arrive with a rich set of improvements to the user experience, both visual and functional-wise.
A more interesting perspective on the screenshots mentioned above come from X (formerly Twitter) user Ankit, who posted an image showing them accompanied by a text that reads "Images Shown in this Picture is not MIUI 15. Actual Design May Vary.." and started its post with an even more intriguing statement that claims "MIUI 15 Will be Available Soon..." without mentioning a date.
Given the existing pattern of December releases for major MIUI versions, it is highly unlikely for MIUI 15 to step out of the line. However, everything's possible and all the MIUI 15 details remain in the rumor mill for now.
