AGM Flip: A first-gen rugged folding smartphone set to launch in August 2023
The self-declared "best quality rugged phone" brand AGM (or AGM Mobile) asserts that it has a device set to launch "in a new folded state" soon. The OEM compounds this hint that it has indeed developed its first ever flexible-display device by announcing that it has joined OPPO, Vivo and Samsung in calling its new product the Flip.
Therefore, it may stand to launch with a form-factor most like that of the new Motorola Razr series - although that is where the similarities might end. Furthermore, the AGM Flip's new artful side-on design preview shot makes it clear that it will not trouble the Honor Magic V2 for bragging rights any time soon.
Indeed, the teaser hints at flat edges at least as thick as those of the Galaxy Z Flip5, with a slightly curved, carbon fiber-accented rear panel on top of that. That might leave room for what looks like a 3.5mm jack on the AGM Flip, although the rest of its specs remain a mystery thus far.
All will be revealed on August 24, 2023 - a launch that, as it has primarily been promoted on AGM's Weibo feed thus far, may be a China-only event, with global availability to be determined.
