AGM Mobile, often a purveyor of smartphones with unusual and highly specific superpowers, has come to MWC 2023 to hype its new G2 Guardian as the highest-end and most "ambitious" of its kind. This is due to its rated ability to deliver "500 meters in thermal sight" thanks to its new rear camera system.
Accordingly, AGM Mobile asserts that even the most "professional and demanding" of users could confidently take the new mobile device hunting, surveying the landscape or even on a rescue mission due to its "innovative" new imaging specs.
The G2 Guardian bolsters this new feature by launching as the latest rugged phone to step up to a 120Hz refresh rate for its 6.58-inch FHD+ and Gorilla Glass-defended display. Its OEM has also sought to set it apart as an upcoming "apex predator" in its market through the unusual choice of a Qualcomm QCM6490 for it to run on.
This processor has a Kryo 670 CPU, a Hexagon processor and inbuilt 5G support, much like many other typical octa-core smartphone-oriented SoCs; however, AGM touts it as more of an "industrial grade" platform to meet its latest device's target applications.
That is true, in fairness, as the QCM6490 is typically pitched at higher-end IoT components. AGM Mobile has yet to disclose how much having it in a new G2 Guardian smartphone - slated to start with 8GB of RAM - will cost, or how to get one in the near future.
