The release of the Forerunner 265 series nears, with Garmin planning on introducing the Forerunner 265 and Forerunner 265S as 46 mm and 42 mm smartwatches, respectively. According to new leaks, both will come in three colours and will launch for US$449.99. Key specifications for both models have leaked too, as has retail packaging for the Forerunner 265.

High-resolution images of the Forerunner 265 series have surfaced online, following the emergence of equivalents for the Forerunner 965. While the Forerunner 965 will only come in a single 46 mm case size, Garmin plans to offer the Forerunner 265 in 42 mm and 46 mm sizes. However, the company will continue to sell the 42 mm edition as an 's' model, as it did with the Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 255S.

As the images below show, the Forerunner 265 and Forerunner 265S will be available in three colour combinations. While most of the names of these colour combinations appeared online last month, a leaked Retail Training document confirms that they will be:

  • Forerunner 265

    • Aqua w/ Black watch band
    • Black w/ Powder Gray watch band
    • Whitestone w/ Tidal Blue watch band

  • Forerunner 265S

    • Black w/ Amp Yellow watch band
    • Light Pink w/ Whitestone watch band
    • Whitestone w/ Neo Tropic watch band

The same document also highlights all key Forerunner 265 series features, including its reliance on new AMOLED displays. The move away from MIP panels brings refined designs to the Forerunner 2xx series too with thinner display bezels. Moreover, the document lists all launch SKUs, which all cost US$449.99. As expected, Garmin will not sell dedicated 'Music' models under the Forerunner 265 series. Instead, all Forerunner 265 and Forerunner 265S models will support Amazon Music, Deezer and Spotify playback with songs saved to their 8 GB of internal storage. Reputedly, Garmin will announce the Forerunner 265 series in the next few weeks.
