Garmin Public Beta Version 11.85 for Forerunner 945 is now available
Garmin has announced the rollout of Public Beta Version 11.85 for the Forerunner 945 smartwatch. The latest software fixes several issues with the wearable. For example, users had reported an issue with large Wi-Fi syncs, which Garmin has resolved with the new update. A smaller problem, also resolved, switched the order of the data screens in the Indoor Bike without a trainer activity, showing the second display before the first.
One more bug which has been fixed occurred when the Forerunner 945 was booted up, and there was an unsaved activity on the device. Another recent update, Public Beta Version 11.83, resolved an issue which caused dropouts in the Running Dynamics Pod data. Garmin Public Beta Version 11.85 is a release candidate, meaning the company intends to make the update available to all owners of the Forerunner 945, assuming no issues are spotted at this stage.
Customers who are part of the beta program will receive the new software automatically; the company says that the rollout is 20% complete so far. You can join the Garmin Beta Program via Garmin Connect. The Garmin Forerunner 945 smartwatch is designed for runners and triathletes, offering local music playback, contactless payments and up to two weeks of battery life. The wearable is currently discounted at Amazon, selling for US$388, a 22% reduction on the US$499.99 retail price.
