Garmin has released another update for the Fenix 7, Enduro 2, Epix 2, Quatix 7 and Marq 2. Rolling out at Beta version 11.28, the update features several bug fixes to PulseOx, sensor hub and shutdown problems found in Beta version 11.25.

Garmin has rolled out another beta update to the Fenix 7, Enduro 2, Epix 2, Quatix 7 and Marq 2 series smartwatches. For reference, Garmin moved back to issuing Alpha updates last week, having released Beta version 11.21 through Beta version 11.25, with the latter now available as a stable update. According to Garmin, Beta version 11.28 contains the same changes as Alpha version 11.28.

However, Garmin requires people to install Alpha updates manually, whereas it rolls out beta builds automatically. As such, the changes described below will be new for most Fenix 7, Enduro 2, Epix 2, Quatix 7 and Marq 2 series smartwatches enrolled on Garmin's Beta Program. Beta version 11.28 makes the following changes from Beta version 11.25:

  • Fixed possible issue with sensor hub reporting v0.00 after update.
  • Fixed possible issue with the PulseOx page not updating when taking a measurement.
  • Fixed possible issue where wrong Daily Suggested Workout would appear in Morning Report.
  • Fixed issue with PulseOx text being cut off when placed inside a widget glance folder.
  • Fixed potential shutdown when accessing wallet.
  • Fixed potential shutdown when receiving a smart notification.
  • Fixed possible warning about maximum number of sport profiles being reached.
  • Fixed adding a new custom sport profile not working as expected.
  • Fixed possible issue with where the power guide page might be missing from the timer loop.
  • Fixed not being able to start/stop an activity from the power guide page.

In short, this week's beta build only ships with bug fixes compared to its predecessor and no new features. Please note that the update should arrive automatically via GCM, although it could take several hours for the update to finish downloading before it transfers to your smartwatch. Please see Garmin's blog post for more details, including links to sharing bugs and secure_config files. Beta version 11.28 is the start of a new beta batch, with a stable build likely a while away from being finalised.
