Huawei has discussed extended Watch GT Cyber availability, having launched the smartwatch in China and Mexico so far. While the smartwatch will soon be available in the Middle East and more Latin American and South East Asian countries, Huawei is said to have ruled out European or further North American releases.

Last month, Huawei began offering the Watch GT Cyber outside China, where it has been available since November. As we discussed, Huawei elected to bring the smartwatch to Mexico after China, albeit without confirming when it would reach other markets. Now, the company has showcased the smartwatch at MWC 2023 in Barcelona seemingly at a closed doors event.

Generally, Huawei brings devices to trade shows when a broader release is on the cards. For example, Huawei exhibited the Watch D to IFA 2022 in Berlin a month before launching the smartwatch in Europe and UK. For some reason, the same is not true for the Watch GT Cyber. Instead, Huawei confirmed to the likes of GSMArena and Pocket-lint that the smartwatch would be rolling out to other Latin American and South East Asian countries, as well as the Middle East.

At the time of writing, Pocket-lint claims that Huawei simply has no plans to sell the Watch GT Cyber in Europe or the rest of North America. However, GSMArena goes further by stating that the Watch GT Cyber will not be sold in Europe whatsoever. Unfortunately, Huawei has not disclosed why it had decided against bringing the Watch GT Cyber to Europe.
