Google brings new features to Pixel 7 series, Pixel Watch and co. with Android and Wear OS refinements
Google has announced several new features for Pixel smartphones and the Pixel Watch, as well as third-party devices running Android 13 or Wear OS 3. Announced during Mobile World Congress (MWC 2023), the new feature should be available on both operating systems shortly. Google has not confirmed exact release dates for all the features described on its blog post, though.
According to Google, it has added a new widget within the Google Keep app that will allow you to paste a single note on your home screen, rather than an overview of all notes in a given list or a toolbar to create a new note. The same blog post explains that the new widget can not only display text, but it can also display images and selected background colours. The Google Keep app has also gained new shortcuts within Wear OS, where it should soon be possible to create notes and reminder lists from a watch face complication.
Additionally, Chromebooks finally support Fast Pair for connecting accessories like the Pixel Buds Pro. Meanwhile, Google has added new tap-to-pay animations within its Wallet app and new emoji combinations in Emoji Kitchen. Furthermore, Google has extended zoom support in Chrome to 300% on Android, which remains short of what is possible on the browser's desktop versions.
Moreover, Google Drive has gained new tools for editing PDFs with a stylus, while noise cancellation should now work better in Google Meet. Wear OS 3 has also received new accessibility fatures, including colour correction, a greyscale display mode and mono audio. Please see Google's blog post for more details.
