Honor has presented the Magic5 Pro as part of its MWC 2023 showcase. Revealed alongside the Magic Vs and the Magic 5, the Magic5 Pro will take on the likes of the Galaxy S23 Ultra and Xiaomi 13 Pro when it arrives next quarter. While the Magic5 Pro will be cheaper than both its competitors, it will still retail for over €1,000.

Honor has introduced the Magic5 Pro, one of three smartphones the company has presented at MWC 2023. As its name suggests, the Magic5 Pro is a more expensive and more capable alternative to the Magic5, which also debuted today. Incidentally, the Magic5 Pro undercuts the Xiaomi 13 Pro by €100, details of which you can find in our dedicated launch article. Likewise, the Magic5 Pro is significantly cheaper than the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Like the Xiaomi 13 Pro, the Magic5 Pro combines the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. Additionally, the Magic5 Pro possesses a 5,100 mAh battery that supports 66 W wired and 50 W wireless charging. Moreover, the device has a 6.81-inch AMOLED display within a 162.9 x 76.7 x 8.8 mm chassis that contributes to its 219 g weight. For reference, the display operates at 2,848 x 1,312 pixels with a 120 Hz refresh rate, an LTPO backplane for a variable refresh rate and 1,800 nits peak brightness.

Furthermore, Honor has equipped the Magic5 Pro with three rear-facing cameras that all output at 50 MP. According to the company, the primary camera relies on a 1/1.2-inch sensor, while the ultra-wide-angle camera has a 1/2.5-inch sensor and a 122˚ field of view (FoV). Meanwhile, Honor bases the device's telephoto camera on the Sony IMX858, which offers 3.5x optical zoom. A 12 MP front-facing camera joins the 50 MP rear-facing set-up, as does a ToF front-facing sensor that captures depth of field information and can be used for biometrics.

Also, the Magic5 Pro will ship with Magic UI 7.1 based on Android 13, plus IP68 certification, Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 7 and NFC. Currently, Honor states that it will begin selling the Magic5 Pro alongside the Magic5 in Q2 2023, with no definitive release date yet. Potentially, the device could launch in mid-April, although that may not apply to all countries. Regardless, Honor will offer the Magic5 Pro in Cyan and Black colourways, both with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, for €1,199.
