IFA 2023 | AGM Mobile Pad P1 launches as brand-first waterproof Android 13 tablet with optional 4G/LTE
AGM Mobile is a brand usually known for robust smartphones with niche features such as the extra-loud in-built speakers of the H5 series. The Pad P1, on the other hand, has a selling point of being an "all-in-one" device thanks to its larger FHD 10.36-inch display.
Nevertheless, it is touted to be dust- and water-resistant thanks to a "heavy-duty yet light and sleek" design that incorporates waterproof plugs for its ports, which include a 3.5mm jack and a USB type-C port for 18W charging.
On that note, the Pad P1 sports a 7,000mAh battery, which will keep an Android 13-based OS on. The P1 runs it using the MediaTek Helio G99, an SoC often backed to bring appreciable performance and endurance to devices in its market segment, as it is here.
The processor's potential for both productivity and entertainment is augmented by "Dual Box Stereo Speakers", which seems to mean that 1 is found behind a grille on either shorter side of the P1's flat-edged frame. The tablet has a camera hump reminiscent of that of the new Lenovo Legion Y700, although only 1 of its 2 camera rings is occupied by an 8MP camera.
The Pad P1 has just 256GB of internal storage to go with its 8GB of RAM, yet supports microSD cards of up to 2TB in size. Accordingly, AGM asserts that it is the perfect tablet for the outdoors, whether its owner is working hard or going on an adventure.
The new tablet has different "versions" depending on the market for which it is intended: for example, the US version starts at US$199, whereas its European counterpart with 4G/LTE connectivity as well as Wi-Fi is €299.99.
