Oukitel touts its new RT6 as its "most powerful" rugged Android tablet yet. Its 10.1-inch display is sustained by a battery with a capacity as large as some power banks out there, rated to stay on for no less than 2,250 hours on standby. It has a microSD card slot and RAM that can be extended in its software, although its robust nature comes with one or two potential key weaknesses.

Oukitel promises outdoor productivity for (literally) days with the latest RT-series tablet. Its rugged IP68/IP69K/MIL-STD-810H-rated chassis houses a 20,000mAh battery backed for exceptionally long life - on standby, that is. Using it for video or gaming might drop that estimated screen-on time to about 15 hours, however.

When it is eventually out of battery, the RT6 has a USB type-C port to recharge with, which it can do at up to 33W. It also supports a handy power bank function to use that same cable to transfer power to another device at need.

However, many rugged device fans might be more interested on what is going on externally, thanks to the RT6's novel, heavy-duty-looking rear panel kickstand. It also articulates enough to be used as a handle, and can even be swapped out for a hand-strap - or even augmented with a carrying strap instead - if the user prefers.

On the other side, the RT6 boasts an aspect of the other most interesting slates of 2023: a non-standard aspect ratio. It is 14.4:9 in this case, resulting in a 1200x1920 resolution for its ~10-inch display. Oukitel also asserts that it has "better visibility outdoors"...with a max brightness of 400 nits.

The RT6 has 256GB of internal storage to go with its 8GB of RAM, which can be extended by up to 1TB via microSD card and a Dynamic RAM feature respectively. It is also touted as ready for both work and play with an up-to-date Android 13-based OS...driven by the MediaTek MT8788, a 12nm octa-core reboot of the Helio P60 from 2019.

Hopefully, that SoC can keep up with everything Oukitel backs the RT6 for, which includes optional dual-SIM 4G/LTE connectivity that kicks microSD card use off the tablet. The new rugged tablet is currently priced at US$252.46 on AliExpress, with the possibility of additional discounts via coupons right now.
