Not only is the new Oukitel RT7 Titan touted as the "first rugged tablet with 5G", it also debuts a new battery large enough to sustain an estimated 2,720-hour standby time. The slate is also equipped with "up to 24GB" of RAM, triple rear cameras with Night Vision and even the option of a convenient built-in handle.

The RT7 Titan may have inherited the serious-looking detachable handle from its RT6 forebear - however, the newer slate outdoes the older in a number of potentially important ways. They both have 10.1-inch FHD+ displays set in a (supposedly "indestructible") IP68/IP69K/MIL-STD-810H-rated chassis - however, the Titan has upgraded to series-first 5G.

It dumps the (literally) nameless MediaTek SoC of its predecessor for the Dimensity 720 - a relatively premium processor, albeit only within its own class of mobile devices. Oukitel claims that the Titan's new connectivity can be used to make calls for up to 220 hours per charge, thanks to its equally groundbreaking 32,000mAh battery.

The OEM hints that it makes the RT7 Titan a device that is "always" on (well, for up to 180 days on standy) and ready to go - then again, with the same 33W charging as the RT6, it may also remain connected to a USB type-C charger for a long time.

Nevertheless, Oukitel touts the RT7 Titan as the ideal work tablet thanks to an Android 13-based OS, 256GB of internal storage expandable with a microSD card and a 48MP main rear camera to go with a 20MP "Night Vision" shooter (and a third, less productive-sounding macro lens). It also comes with 12GB of RAM, which can apparently be expanded by another 12GB in software.

All of that does not come cheap, however, with a price-tag of US$999.97 (and that is without the handle and optional carrying strap). It is listed on AliExpress at that price now, although Oukitel has scheduled a launch event for the new premium rugged tablet from August 21 to 25, 2023.
