Oukitel announces pricing and availability for latest slim-edged 5G smartphones
Oukitel has announced that its next World Premiere will go live in mid-June 2024 to launch the new WP50, a smartphone with a relatively restrained, almost OnePlus Nord-like, look for its camera hump despite its rugged designation.
It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+, as is the upcoming 50MP main camera-toting C50, which goes for some of its Realme namesakes in terms of looks, in green, blue or black rather than the WP50's single black textured "Oblique Stripe" finish.
The C50 actually has the larger display of the 2 at ~6.8 inches diagonally - however, like that of the WP50, its HD+ waterdrop-notched nature belies its up-to-date Android 14-based OS. The latest C-series smartphone is also the slimmer new Oukitel smartphone, with flat 8.9mm edges as opposed to 12.4mm in the WP50.
Then again, the latter has a (considerably) larger battery, with a RedMagic 9 Pro-baiting rated capacity of 6,500mAh while the C50 makes do with 5,150mAh.
Both devices have microSD card slots and up to 16GB of RAM, albeit via a software-based memory boost feature in the case of the WP50. Nevertheless, it will debut for as little as $159.99 on June 17, 2024 via AliExpress, whereas the C50 will do so for just $109.99.
