Oukitel OT5: New tablet previewed following extensive leak for US$179.99
Oukitel has now launched the OT5, a large tablet built around Android 13. To recap, GSMArena extensively leaked the Oukitel OT5 over a week ago, in which it shared various hardware specifications. As expected, the tablet relies upon the MediaTek Helio G99, a 6 nm chipset that also underpins Doogee's new T20 Ultra and T30 Ultra tablets.
Additionally, Oukitel complements the entry-level chipset with an 11,000 mAh battery and 256 GB of expandable storage. For reference, while Oukitel mentions that the OT5 has 36 GB of RAM, this figure represents 12 GB of physical RAM and a 24 GB pagefile written to the tablet's slower storage. Still, the Helio G99 is likely to bottleneck the Oukitel OT5 first before the tablet reaches a RAM ceiling.
Elsewhere, the Oukitel OT5 boasts a 12-inch display that outputs at 2K (2,000 x 1,200) with an 86% screen-to-body ratio and a 5:3 aspect ratio. Purportedly, all these components combine to weigh 560 g and fit within a 7.5 mm thick housing. The Oukitel OT5 will be available for US$179.99 in three colour options, starting November 11. Please see Oukitel's website for more details.
