Optoma has unveiled the UHZ66 projector for home or office use. The new DLP model has a 4K resolution with a 500,000:1 contrast ratio and support for HDR and HLG. The projector features a DuraCore laser light source producing up to 4,000 lumens brightness, with an expected lifetime of 30,000 hours.
The UHZ66 can throw images between 66 and 770 cm (~26 and 303-in) wide with a 1.4-2.24:1 throw ratio. You can adjust the image with keystone correction tools, 1.6x zoom and 360-degree and portrait projection modes. Optoma suggests that the projector is suitable for gaming, with a dedicated mode delivering a 4.4ms input lag at 1080p@240Hz resolution, or 17ms for 4K@60Hz, and HDMI 2.0 eARC and HDMI 2.0 ports. If used in an office setting, you can control the device via Crestron RoomView, Extron IPLink and AMX systems.
An external power supply makes it easier to transport the projector, and an integrated USB-A port allows you to charge smaller gadgets. Other features include 3D compatibility, an auto power-off tool and a built-in 15W speaker. Optoma claims that the new model is around 34% smaller than older projectors from the brand; the device measures 254 x 261 x 114 mm (~10 x 10.3 x 4.5-in) and weighs 3 kg (~6.6 lbs). You can now buy the Optoma UHZ66 4K projector for US$2,999/€2,499.
