Xiaomi has now confirmed the existence of the Pad 6 Max, which will serve as the third and flagship entry in the Pad 6 series. In other words, Xiaomi seems to be positioning the Pad 6 series as a true alternative to the Galaxy Tab S9 series that Samsung launched last month. Accordingly, Xiaomi has equipped the Pad 6 Max with a 14-inch display, which the company claims has a 62% larger surface area than the 11-inch panel that features in the Pad 6.
For some reason, Xiaomi elected against comparing the Pad 6 Max with the Pad 6 Pro. Potentially, that could be because more similarities exist between the Pad 6 and Pad 6 Max than the Pad 6 Pro, which has yet to receive a global release. Based on a recent Geekbench leak, the Pad 6 Max relies on the same Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset as the Pad 6 Pro, as well as 12 GB of RAM. In comparison, Xiaomi equips the Pad 6 with the Snapdragon 870, an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 865.
The Pad 6 Max appears to retain the design language of its Pad 6 siblings, too. For example, Xiaomi has included two rear-facing lenses that sit behind a camera housing reminiscent of the equivalent found in the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. Currently, it is unknown whether the Pad 6 Max will receive a global release. However, Xiaomi will reveal the tablet on August 14 in China, during which it will also present the Smart Band 8 Pro and the MIX Fold 3.
