Samsung left a number of years between the launch of one rugged, enterprise-ready tablet and another; however, rumor has it that it will not leave the 4 Pro without a successor for that long again. This alleged new slate is believed to have one of the Galaxy Tab Active series' most distinctive features.
The regulatory body SafetyKorea has registered the new battery EB-BX306GBY, which was made for Samsung by Ningde Amperex Technologies, has a typical capacity of 10,000mAh - and is clearly removable. Accordingly, it is said to have been made for a new device called the Galaxy Tab Active5.
It is said to have 2 variants: the SM-X300, which is Wi-Fi-only, and the SM-X306B with the standalone 5G connectivity of the Tab Active 4 Pro. There is no word on how much the "Active5" could cost on its launch; for context, its alleged forebear started at US$649 without mobile data.
