Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab A9+ Android slates launch globally

Earlier this month, Samsung silently introduced the affordable Galaxy Tab A9 in South America and the Middle East. Today, this MediaTek Helio G99-powered, 8.7-inch slate becomes globally available alongside its 11-inch sibling that carries the Galaxy Tab A9+ label and is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC.

In addition to the specs mentioned above, we should also mention that the Galaxy Tab A9+ is the only one to feature a 5G version. While both come with an 8 MP rear camera, the Tab A9 only gets a 2 MP selfie shooter and its sibling gets a 5 MP front-mounted image snapper. The battery sizes are 5,100 mAh and 7,040 mAh. The display of the Tab A9 has a 60 Hz refresh rate and only 1,340 X 800 pixels, while the Tab A9+ provides a resolution of 1,920 X 1,200 pixels and 90 Hz refresh. 

Both tablets are available in 4/64 GB and 8/128 GB configurations and can accommodate microSD cards up to 1 TB in size. The Tab A9 gets a minor advantage in the Bluetooth department, scoring points with 5.3 support vs. 5.1 in the Tab A9+. Unsurprisingly, both run Android 13-based software out of the box.

Each of these two new Android tablets by Samsung comes with Dolby Atmos sound and WiFi 5 support. The color choices are the same, namely Graphite, Silver, and Navy.
