Samsung has had a busy few days, having presented the Galaxy Buds FE, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus earlier this week. Subsequently, it has released the Galaxy Tab A9 in some markets, which we have covered separately. Also, it turns out that it is ready to offer up the Galaxy Tab A9 Plus, a larger alternative to the Galaxy Tab A9 that has a more powerful chipset than its stablemate too.
Based on the information that has leaked so far, the Galaxy Tab A9 Plus will be Samsung's third current-generation tablet with a circa 11-inch display. According to WinFuture, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Tab A9 Plus with a 1,920 x 1,200 pixel LCD, which also has a 90 Hz refresh rate like the Galaxy Tab S9 FE. However, it is worth noting that the latter has a more pixel-dense 1440p panel than the former.
Likewise, the Galaxy Tab A9 Plus will launch with a less powerful chipset than the Galaxy Tab S9 FE. Reportedly, Samsung has chosen the Snapdragon 695 5G for the Galaxy Tab A9 Plus, which trails the Exynos 1380 in the Galaxy Tab S9 FE by roughly a third in our benchmarks. Still, it remains rare for an entry-level tablet like the Galaxy Tab A9 Plus to feature a 5G modem; typically, Android OEMs include 4G alternatives instead, like the MediaTek Helio G99.
Moreover, the Galaxy Tab A9 Plus is expected to launch with a choice between 4 GB and 8 GB of RAM or 64 GB or 128 GB of storage, both expandable with a MicroSD card. WinFuture adds that the tablet has a 7,040 mAh battery too, which is about 1,000 mAh shy of the OnePlus Pad Go. While a release date remains unknown for now, the same website claims that the Galaxy Tab A9 Plus will start at approximately €220 as a Wi-Fi-only model or €260 if you want its 5G modem activated.
