Samsung has quietly rolled out four new Fan Edition products, the cheapest of which is the Galaxy Buds FE. For reference, the company has also presented the Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus, all covered separately. Like its other new Fan Edition products, the Galaxy Buds FE make cutbacks in several areas, albeit with a few features to entice fans.
Specifically, the Galaxy Buds FE has active noise cancellation (ANC) and has three microphones, two outer and one inner. Thus, the earbuds support beamforming for reducing the sound of background noise when needed. Additionally, the Galaxy Buds FE masters Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity but only AAC and SBC codecs. Moreover, Samsung has integrated Auto Switch technology and its Scalable proprietary codec.
Furthermore, Samsung claims that the earbuds will last up to 6 hours with ANC switched on from their 60 mAh batteries or 8:30 hours with the feature disabled. Supposedly, the 479 mAh battery encased within the carry case will boost the Galaxy Buds FE to 21 hours and 30 hours of total battery life, respectively, before the earbuds and carry case both need recharging. The Galaxy Buds FE are only available in Graphite and White colourways, both for US$99 in the US.
