The release of the Galaxy S24 series is likely still months away, with Samsung rumoured to be targeting a January 2024 release for its next flagship smartphones. Nonetheless, @OnLeaks has already obtained renders of all three models, which he has now shared online. Also, the leaker has gone further with the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the series' presumed premier model. As the images below show, @OnLeaks has provided detailed comparisons between the Galaxy S24 Ultra and its predecessor, such as the similarities between the pair.
Based on these images, Samsung has made its next Ultra smartphone slightly shorter than its current model. However, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is wider than the Galaxy S23 Ultra too, potentially making the former less comfortable to hold than the latter for many people. Additionally, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has a less curved display than its predecessor, which should reduce accidental touch inputs.
According to @UniverseIce, the design change will coincide with a much brighter display. Purportedly, the panel will peak at 2,500 nits, up from 1,750 nits from the Galaxy S23 Ultra. For reference, the same leaker asserts that the display has a 2.5D finish, which is not quite the flat panel that the Pixel 8 Pro will offer when it debuts later this week. Overall, the Galaxy S24 Ultra contains various incremental visual changes from the Galaxy S23 Ultra, much like it did this summer with the Galaxy Z Fold5.
