Xiaomi 14 Pro to launch with unchanged 120 W wired charging
The Chinese Compulsory Certification (3C) in China has published certification for what appears to be the Xiaomi 14 Pro, one-third of the Xiaomi 14 series. As always, the 3C does not refer to the Xiaomi 14 Pro by its eventual marketing name. Instead, its certification lists the device as 23116PN5BC, a model number that has been linked previously to the Xiaomi 14 Pro.
For reference, 23116PN5BC will be a China-only device, denoted by its 'C' suffix. However, Xiaomi is assumed to offer a global variant at some stage, probably in early 2024. While all Xiaomi 14 Pro variants will likely feature various upgrades from the Xiaomi 13 Pro, wired charging will not be one of them. According to the 3C, Xiaomi certified the 23116PN5BC with MDY-14-ED, a charger that peaks at 120 W.
Incidentally, Xiaomi already ships with the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Redmi K60 Pro. Thus, the Xiaomi 14 Pro should reach 100% charge from 0% in roughly 20 minutes. Purportedly, the Xiaomi 14 Pro will have a 4,860 mAh battery, 40 mAh more than its predecessor. By contrast, the Xiaomi 14 is slated to arrive with 90 W wired charging, a 34% increase over the Xiaomi 13. Currently, both the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro are expected to debut in China as early as November, possibly as some of the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered smartphones around.
