Rumor | Honor X50 GT will launch with Huawei Mate X3-esque camera hump
Honor claims to be independent from Huawei and that it intends to stay that way, even as that Chinese giant's fortunes seem to be on the rise once again. Nevertheless, its former sub-brand is slated to use one of its most recent and iconic industrial designs for an upcoming device.
The X40 GT and its newer Racing Edition have a distinctive round rear camera ring - however, its successor is now said to move on to a new style that just happens to make it look like a non-foldable Mate X3 (or X5). Accordingly, the X50-series variant might have more of an 'Oreo-like' camera hump, although the inclusion of a 5x telephoto lens is not guaranteed.
The X50 GT also has a good chance of launching with an ex-flagship Snapdragon processor to underpin its performance-oriented suffix - as might the 100 GT, a rumored new addition to Honor's next sub-flagship smartphone line-up. The 100 series is also thought to switch to 1.5K displays and rear cameras refined down to "high-pixel" dual lenses, and might launch before the end of 2023.
