Honor X40 GT ultra-high refresh rate and cooling detailed in new official leak
Honor now has less than 24 hours to debut the new GT variant for its existing X40 smartphone in China. Despite this, the company has now chosen to elaborate on hints of a gaming appeal in this upcoming device in much more detail.
A number of Android smartphones have been teased as packing advanced cooling systems incorporating multiple thermal management techniques, the presence of a vapor chamber (VC) included, to keep performance constant under load. Now, the Honor X40 GT is officially one of them.
The OEM has hinted that its VC will take up over 4,000mm2 of space within the smartphone, for a total cooling-related surface area equivalent to 16,300mm2. This level of thermal management may indeed come in handy as the X40 GT has now been revealed to boast a 6.81-inch display with a refresh rate of 144Hz.
This spec will be joined by a touch-sampling rate of 480Hz and a rating of a sustained 115.07 fps frame-rate over 60 minutes of playing Arena of Valor. Then again, such theoretically impressive specs might come in handy, as the GT is said to get an LCD panel rather than the AMOLED of the X40.
