Motorola Razr 2022 confirmed as the world's first 144Hz clamshell foldable smartphone
Motorola has about 4 days from today (August 7, 2022) to launch its Moto X30 Pro and Razr 2022 flagships - hopefully without a hitch this time. In the meantime, the OEM has posted a full placeholder page for the upcoming foldable on its Chinese, Lenovo-fulfilled e-commerce portal.
This new page previews the upcoming clamshell's specs in detail, confirming this Razr's potential to be a true Galaxy Flip-killer in the process. It has stepped up to a main 6.7-inch OLED display that matches even the Edge 30 Pro in terms of specs.
The impending Moto Razr is touted as having made the once-unthinkable leap to a 144Hz refresh rate for this same bendable panel, surpassing its predecessor, not to mention the Flip3 and possibly even the Flip4, by leaps and bounds.
Motorola also now claims to have baked a range of additional top-end display properties into the same ultra-fast panel, 10-bit color, HDR10+, DC dimming and SGS-certified eye-care features included.
Complete with its also-official Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, the Razr 2022 seems primed to give even the X30 Pro a run for its money - then again, that 'normal' counterpart still has its world-first camera system going for it.
