Motorola Razr 2022: European price leaks as General Manager teases upcoming foldable smartphone
With the Razr 2022 due for release in early August, we do not have long to wait before Motorola reveals its Galaxy Z Flip3 and Galaxy Z Flip4 competitor. In the meantime, Motorola has already showcased the Razr 2022 at an event in China, as well as sharing a teaser video on Weibo. Subsequently, Chen Jin, General Manager of Lenovo's smartphone division, continues to offer tidbits about the Razr 2022, embedded below.
On the one hand, one video highlights the device's cover display. Reportedly spanning 3-inches, the cover display is big enough to play some games on, which would not be possible with the Galaxy Z Flip3. Incidentally, the Galaxy Z Flip4 is expected to feature a similarly-sized display as its predecessor. Also, a separate picture suggests that the Razr 2022 will ship with custom backgrounds, such as a watch face with three complications.
On the other hand, Chen Jin has published a second video in which he opens and uses the Razr 2022. Identifiable by the device's dual cameras, the Razr 2022 appears to have a glossy exterior design, likely a fingerprint magnet. Also, Chen Jin has a hard time opening the device, which is also an issue with the Razr 5G.
Separately, Gizpaw has discovered a Razr 2022 retail listing, a screenshot of which we have embedded below. Shared without a source, the screenshot shows the Razr 2022 priced at €1,205.13 with 256 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM. In comparison, Motorola sold the Razr 5G for €1,399. While a near €200 price drop should help shift more Razr 2022 units, the Galaxy Z Flip4 is rumoured to start at €1,079. The Galaxy Z Flip4 will be available globally from next month too, unlike the Razr 2022.
