Motorola is yet to confirm a global release date for the Razr 2022 yet, its first foldable smartphone in new two years. However, the company continues to drip feed information about the handset on Chinese social media. As we reported earlier this week, Motorola has already shown the possibilities of the Razr 2022's secondary display. For context, said display is expected to measure 3-inches across, compared to the 2.7-inch one in the Razr 5G.
Now, Motorola has revealed the Razr 2022's primary display, along with details about the device's primary camera. As Motorola's teaser image shows, the Razr 2022 sports its predecessor's hinge design that folds the flexible display at two points, unlike Samsung's alternatives. Additionally, Motorola has confirmed that the Razr 2022 will feature a 50 MP primary camera, which allegedly contains 'flagship imaging hardware'. Purportedly, the Razr 2022 will launch with a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, too.
Separately, TENAA has certified the Razr 2022, referred to by its model number XT2251-1. According to the certification body, the Razr 2022 measures 169.99 x 79.79 x 7.62 mm when folded and weighs 200 g. Also, the listing describes the Razr 2022 as having a 6.67-inch OLED primary display operating at 2,400 x 1,080 pixels, plus a 2.65-inch secondary panel that has an 800 x 573-pixel resolution. TENAA remarks that the Razr 2022 has a 3,320 mAh combined battery capacity as well, plus the following colour, RAM and storage options:
- Black, Blue, Green, Grey, Gold, Red, Silver, White
- 8 GB, 12 GB, 18 GB of RAM
- 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB of storage
The Motorola Razr 2022 will debut in China on August 2 alongside the Moto X30 Pro. Pricing remains unknown at this stage, but Motorola has confirmed that the handset will be available with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1.
