Moto Razr 2022 and Moto X30 Pro launch abruptly cancelled for "some reason"
Motorola's upcoming Moto Razr 2022 and Moto X30 Pro were two of the most highly anticipated smartphones launched in 2022. The latter was slated to be the world's first phone to feature a 200 MP camera and the former a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 powered foldable. Both phones were to be launched today (August 2) in China. However, the event seems to have been cancelled at the last moment.
Motorola took to Weibo to announce the rather abrupt cancellation. No official reason was cited in the post, which simply said that the event was cancelled for "some reason". It could be something out of Motorola's control, as it has been hyping up both phones for quite some time now. At the moment, there is no word about when the Moto Razr 2022 and Moto X30 Pro will be announced.
Android Authority speculates that the recent tensions between the United States and China could have something to do with the cancellation. If that is the case, future launches such as the Dimensity 9000-powered iQOO Neo7 and OnePlus Ace Pro could be in jeopardy, too, although there has been no confirmation about that just yet.
