Moto Razr 2022 pricing is revealed a day in advance of the flagship-grade foldable's launch
Motorola has settled on August 11, 2022 (also known as tomorrow) as the date on which its ultra-premium Moto X30 Pro and Razr 2022 will be formally introduced to their (hopefully) initial market of China. The OEM patently intends to redeem many shortcoming of the latter's predecessors with true flagship specs that might also help with the fact that Samsung and Xiaomi also intend to unleash upgraded foldable devices at around the same time.
Then again, switching to this option in premium handset technology is not, of course, projected to come cheap, particularly in 2022. However, Motorola has just challenged this idea with a price reveal for its third-gen foldable that might come as a surprise to many, and not an unpleasant one.
The OEM has indicated that it intends to start the foldable at 5,999 yuan (~US$888), whereas the looming Galaxy Flip4 alternative is projected to do so at its predecessor's 7,599 yuan (~US$1,125), if not more. Then again, Motorola's competitive new offer probably applies to the Razr 2022's entry-level 8GB RAM model, whereas it is slated to offer 12 or even 18GB options that might get much more expensive.
Nevertheless, the new tier might prove encouraging to some foldable-curious consumers in Motorola's native country - even if it fails to translate worldwide. Now, however, the ball is now in Xiaomi's court. as it may also be equipped to launch the also-imminent Mix Fold 2 at a more or less reasonable cost.
