Xiaomi is rumored to keep 2022's flagship smartphone refresh season as foldable as possible with a second-gen release with internal specs of a considerable, if not outright significant, bump upwards compared to the original Mi Mix Fold. However, if the OEM's fans were still hoping for a design re-think that might address some of that foldable's potential real-world shortcomings, the latest leaks are no comfort in this regard.
The eminent leaker Ice Universe has posted a new image of a device which, with its Galaxy Z Fold-like proportions, could easily be mistaken for Xiaomi's inaugural flexible Mix variant. Nevertheless, it is endorsed as the Mix Fold 2, which means it could yet again ship with a secondary display of limited usability.
On a more encouraging note, that cover screen is depicted as the only one with a potentially distracting punch-hole selfie camera. There are very noticeable bezels, however.
In terms of pricing, Ice Universe also now warns aspiring Mix Fold 2 owners to stay "realistic" about how much they may need to pay for this allegedly Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1-powered device. That just might matter less to some should the device manage to launch internationally this time, however.
