Huawei Mate X3: Company confirms European pricing north of €2,000 for Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Fold5 rival

Huawei has finally released the Mate X3 outside China, roughly two months after debuting the smartphone in its home market. To recap, the Mate X3 measures 156.9 x 141.5 x 5.3 mm, or 156.9 x 72.4 x 11.08 mm when folded. The device also weighs 239 g. In other words, the Mate X3 has a significantly smaller footprint than the Galaxy Z Fold4, as well as the rumoured Galaxy Z Fold5.

A 4G version of the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 sits at the heart of the Mate X3, which Huawei complements with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Additionally, the Mate X3 has 7.85-inch foldable and 6.4-inch cover displays, which are both AMOLED panels that peak at 120 Hz. The global features the same cameras as its Chinese counterpart, with dual 8 MP front-facing, 50 MP primary, 13 MP ultra-wide-angle and 12 MP periscope sensors.

It is worth noting that only the standard 4,800 mAh battery is available globally, with no 5,060 mAh silicon carbon option. In comparison, 66 W wired and 50 W wireless charging remain. Huawei has priced the Mate X3 at €2,199 in the Eurozone and £1,999 in the UK. While the foldable comes in black and green colourways in the Eurozone, Huawei limits it to the latter in the UK. Huawei will start shipping the Mate X3 on May 22 in the Eurozone and May 26 in the UK. However, the company will include a complimentary 42 mm or 46 mm version of the Watch GT 3 with orders placed until June 5.
