Sony Xperia 10 V: Minor refresh arrives in resplendent colourways
Sony has announced the Xperia 10 V, a modest refresh of the Xperia 10 IV. While the Xperia 1 V has arrived with a raft of new features relative to the Xperia 1 IV, the Xperia 10 V maintains its predecessor's Snapdragon 695 chipset, as well as 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of expandable storage. Likewise, Sony continues to equip the Xperia 10 with a 5,000 mAh battery, plus 8 MP telephoto, ultra-wide-angle and front-facing cameras.
Moreover, the Xperia 10 V appears to carry over its predecessor's 6.1-inch OLED display, which outputs at 1080p, 60 Hz and with 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. However, Sony claims that the display is now 50% brighter, which appears to be the only display change from the Xperia 10 IV to the Xperia 10 V.
Arguably, the only major improvement from the Xperia 10 IV is a new 48 MP primary camera sensor that has an f/1.8 aperture, 0.8 µm pixels and a 1/2.0-inch optical format. The camera delivers a 26 mm equivalent focal length too and is the only of the device's cameras that Sony has optically stabilised. Sony will begin selling the Xperia 10 V in mid-June with a €449 MSRP. Pre-orders placed from June 1 will receive a complimentary pair of WH-CH520 headphones, which currently sell for just under €50 in the Eurozone. Please see Sony's website for more details.
