Motorola has now confirmed that it will beat Samsung to unveil its next-generation flagship foldable. As expected, Motorola will host a June 1 launch event, dubbed 'Flip the script'. Seemingly, the company's teaser suggests that it will introduce two models, which earlier leaks also suggested. The company has not provided any other details yet, though.
In the meantime, Evan Blass has leaked more official images of the Razr 40 Ultra, a clamshell foldable that Motorola will launch alongside the cheaper Razr 40. While the Razr 40 goes after the likes of the Galaxy Z Flip4, the Razr 40 Ultra embraces a much larger cover display. Purportedly, Samsung will lean into an expansive cover display with the Galaxy Z Flip5, which is tipped for a late July release.

Based on the image above, Motorola will market both Razr 40 models simultaneously, albeit targeted at different audiences. For example, the Razxr 40 Ultra's spacious cover display will allow it to serve as a quasi-camcorder or a viewfinder in tent mode, which Motorola calls Photo Booth. Additionally, Motorola will market the Razr 40 Ultra as being capable of displaying social media apps like Netflix, Snapchat, TikTok, WhatsApp and YouTube.
It is worth noting that other apps like Instagram will scale poorly on a landscape-orientated display, a problem that the Oppo Find N2 Flip does not suffer from. The Razr 40 Ultra could be one of the most expensive clamshell foldables too, with a rumoured €1,200 launch price for a 256 GB edition.
