OPPO Find N2 Flip cover display updates to Spotify widget and speech-to-text support
OPPO has yet to release its well-spec'd line of foldable smartphones outside China - with the exception of the Find N2 Flip, which has found its way to markets such as India, Mexico and, most recently, the United Arab Emirates, by now.
The clamshell-style device has garnered fandom thanks to its compact nature that packs high-end internals such as the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor nonetheless. However, if it has attracted one main UX criticism, it is that its cover display may not live up to its potential to minimize unnecessary phone-opening maneuvers.
OPPO has done more work on this issue with the latest version of ColorOS 13 for the Find N2 Flip, which adds the option of "voice-to-text replies" to the cover display. It is rated for compatibility with apps such as Google Messages, Telegram and WhatsApp.
The new update also unlocks the N2 Flip's Spotify cover display widget. The apparently "long-awaited" feature does indeed enable the use of the app when the device is still closed, even if it can only accommodate buttons for play/pause, skip and heart along with album art in its current form.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 is still the only 8+ Gen 1 clamshell on Amazon right now, however.
