Garmin has released the public Beta version 12.13 for the Instinct 2 Series and Instinct Crossover smartwatches. The update is relatively small, providing three bug fixes. Firstly, the new software resolves an issue which could cause the wearable to crash during running activities. Another problem which could potentially cause the smartwatch to shut down on the menu pages has also been fixed.
Lastly, a bug in the saved locations list was removed, a feature you can use to navigate to a known spot via GPS quickly. Update v12.13 will be automatically delivered to eligible smartwatches via Garmin Connect Manager, checking once daily and taking up to a few hours to install. Garmin notes that you must ensure you have the correct secure_config file installed on your wearable before accepting the update; further details can be found here.
Another recent update for Instinct smartwatches was beta version 12.11. This resolved bugs such as a problem with detecting your Cycling Functional Threshold Power (FTP) and an issue that occurred when pressing a hotkey, which could cause you to exit the Incident Detection or Assistance Countdown pages. The new Beta software is available for models such as the Instinct 2 Solar and Instinct 2 Camo Edition. Garmin smartwatch owners who wish to join the Beta Progam can do so via Garmin Connect. In other news, the company recently launched the Instinct 2X Solar series in the US.
