Garmin Instinct 2X: New specifications and pricing emerge for rugged smartwatches
Leaker @fttest_en has discovered new references to the Instinct 2X series online. For context, Roland Quandt has already leaked promotional images of the Instinct 2X Solar and Instinct 2X Tactical, which arrived within a few days of each other. While @fttest_en has not shared images of any other Instinct 2X series smartwatches yet, they have revealed several Instinct 2X-related specifications and European pricing.
On the one hand, the Instinct 2X series will be smaller than expected, with the FCC suggesting that it could feature a 57 mm case size. According to Uhrenlounge, at least the Instinct 2X Solar has a 50 mm case, with which Garmin has included a 1.1-inch MiP display. On the other hand, the Instinct 2X series is rumoured to support 26 mm wide wristbands, despite being closer to the size of regular smartwatches than a 57 mm case size would have been.
Moreover, Instinct 2X series smartwatches will contain a built-in LED flashlight. Unsurprisingly, Garmin will pre-load its usual app, exercise and health monitoring suites, including Garmin Pay. A release date is unknown for now. However, @fttest_en claims that Garmin will launch the Instinct 2X Solar for €449, €50 cheaper than the Instinct 2X Tactical, which also supports solar charging. In other words, Instinct 2X series smartwatches appear to be €50 more expensive than their Instinct 2 counterparts.
