Garmin is rolling out Public Beta Version 15.12 to the Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 255 smartwatches. The update follows v15.11, released earlier this month; changes since the last version includes support for an acute load data field on your watch face. The new software also brings several bug fixes to the wearables, resolving a problem which prevented a vibration when you touched a key despite the setting being enabled.
Garmin notes that it has reduced the sensitivity of off-course warnings and improved the HRV graphs, giving them a similar appearance to the charts found in Garmin Connect. Version 15.12 also fixes an issue that meant performance condition notification tones sounded even when disabled. Plus, a bug that meant that the Today’s Intensity Minutes value was cut off on the intensity minutes page has been resolved, alongside several other minor issues.
At the time of writing, the new software has been rolled out to around 50% of Garmin Forerunner 255 and 955 smartwatches signed up for the Garmin Beta Program. The update is pushed to the wearables automatically, with the watch checking for the software every 24 hours. If you wish to join the Garmin Beta Program to test the latest updates, you can do so via Garmin Connect.
