Garmin Epix 2 Pro: New leak reveals alleged pricing, launch date and specifications
Gadgets & Wearables and the5krunner report that Garmin is planning to expand the Epix 2 series, also known as the Epix Gen 2. Supposedly, Garmin plans to introduce the Epix 2 Pro, mirroring its recent Instinct 2X series release. According to the pair, Garmin will announce the Epix 2 Pro on May 31, with pre-orders opening on the same day. However, Garmin is not expected to start shipping orders until early June.
Apparently, Garmin will offer the Epix 2 Pro in three sizes, starting at 42 mm. 47 mm and 51 mm variants will also be available, compared to the sole 47 mm size in which Garmin sells the current Epix 2. Currently, the Epix 2 Pro is anticipated to start at approximately €950 for the 42 mm edition, before rising to €1,050 and €1,150 for 47 and 51 mm variants, respectively.
As it stands, it is unclear how Garmin will distinguish the Epix 2 Pro from the current Epix 2. As Gadgets & Wearables notes, Garmin may return to adding an LED flashlight, which it used to help separate the Instinct 2X from the Instinct 2. The Epix 2 already features an AMOLED display and Wi-Fi connectivity for music playback though, which the company recently introduced across the Forerunner series with the Forerunner 265 and Forerunner 965.
