Garmin Instinct 2 receives new Beta v12.19 update

The Beta Version 12.19 update for the Garmin Instinct 2 and Instinct Crossover smartwatches has arrived. The new software brings a range of bug fixes to eligible models. For example, v12,19 resolves two issues linked to the Daily Suggested Workout and fixes a problem which could incorrectly trigger the Incident Detection feature.

Garmin has released Beta Version 12.19 for the Instinct 2 and Instinct Crossover series smartwatches. The new software includes several bug fixes, including a couple of problems with the Daily Suggested Workout. Firstly, an issue which led to a Daily Suggested Workout entry displaying incorrectly in the calendar glance on completion has been resolved.

Secondly, a problem has been corrected where the workout prompt remained after the workout was completed. Garmin has fixed an issue which caused Incident Detection to be enabled during an Obstacle Racing activity; Incident Detection is a safety feature which can trigger alerts to three emergency contacts of your choosing if it believes you have been involved in an accident. A bug on the Air Quality page when viewing temperature measurements in Celsius has been resolved, as has a possible issue with the HRV status indicator. Garmin has also sorted out a problem with running activities that could cause the wearable to crash.

A fix specifically for the Tactical Edition of the smartwatch ensures that you can reconnect to GCM after disabling Stealth Mode. Garmin notes that this Beta update will not be automatically delivered to eligible smartwatches. Instead, owners will need to load the software manually. If you wish to join the Garmin Beta Program, you can do so via Garmin Connect Manager.
